I hope that I have come to the right place to get some help. My problem is, I want to get my father something for father's day that he can and will use. He has began to build guitars, and is quite good at it. I would like to get him something that he would use to do this new hobby, but I am completely dumbfounded. I am asking for all of you to reply to this message with something that I should get my father. All of your help is appriciated very much!

Thank you,
Heather

D/A sander, laminate trimmer, rasps, chisels, gift certificate from stewmac, lmi,or woodcraft, optivisor, etc.
Any of those would get used almost every day.

Depends on how much you want to spend .

I don't like the thought of people buying me tools unless it's something that I've said I want or need. Tools are kinda personal and what one guitar builder uses might just sit in another guitar builder's draw gathering dust, or it might be something he already has.

Wood is always welcome 'cause guitar builders are all woodaholics. A nice top or two can be an inexpensive and welcome gift, or a nice back and side set, as I said it depends on how much you can afford. I'd suggest you have a look at our sponsors websites and see what's on offer. Shoot off an email to them and they'll help you out, they're all pretty nice people.
